Bookkeeper
Job title: Bookkeeper

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and books using modern accounting software, in line with Canadian standards for housing/community services.
- Process daily transactions and post journal entries for incoming funds (e.g., housing fees, service revenue) and outgoing payments.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, petty pay for cash, and prepare trial balances.
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and customized reports for management or projects.
- Calculate and process payroll, deductions, benefits, and staff payments for operational team.
- Manage accounts payable: process payments for utilities, supplies, contractor invoices, property expenses, and operations.
- Prepare and file government remittances, source deductions, GST/HST, and support tax compliance.
- Assist with budgeting for housing projects and services, track project-specific funds, report variances, ensure proper allocation, and support audits/internal controls.
Skills and Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to multitask.
- 4+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in Chinese (Asset).

Building Superintendents

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems (including troubleshooting, fixture replacements, and basic fixes).
- Respond promptly to tenant/resident reports of issues (noisy equipment, broken doors, appliances, locks, screens, etc.) and provide general support.
- Handle interior finishing work: painting walls/ceilings/trim, drywall repair/patching, hole filling, sanding, and surface preparation.
- Conduct regular building walkthroughs/inspections, identify potential issues (roof, windows, doors, common areas), and perform preventive maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas/outdoor spaces: cleaning lobbies/laundry/elevators/garbage areas, snow removal, salting, basic landscaping, and lawn care.
- Manage maintenance operations: track supplies/tools/inventory, reorder stock, coordinate with contractors for complex work, document tasks/work orders, ensure safety compliance, and assist with moving heavy items.
Skills and Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, handyperson work, janitorial services, or related hands-on roles (1–2 years preferred; entry-level possible with strong willingness to learn).
- Basic familiarity with tools and equipment for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
- Ability to read simple diagrams, work orders, or maintenance instructions is helpful.
- Physical capability for lifting (up to 50 lbs/23 kg), climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and outdoor tasks in extreme weather.
- Strong reliability, problem-solving skills, and customer service attitude for interacting with tenants/residents.
- Fluency in Chinese (Asset).
